Reservoir feeding a water supply to the Geothermal research power scheme at Rosemanowes Quarry Longdowns Near Falmouth Cornwall UK
Camborne School of Mines used the Rosemanowes site from 1977 after a research grant from the DTI and the EU. Three boreholes up to 2.8 Km deep were fed with water from this reservoir to extract heat from the hot rocks below. This technology known as "Hot Dry Rock" is a form of Geothermal renewable energy.
